Another one of my favorite collections in Milan was Canali's. As I said in the previous post about the Salvatore Ferragamo runway show soft, dusty colors are one of the major trends for next year's Spring/Summer season. The color mixes are very smooth and subtle and the lines are very clean. The collection has a very elegant and effortless look beginning with the suits up to the more relaxed pieces, where the designer cast a playful twist on elegance (like the polka dot trousers with wide red hems). The only eccentricities in the first part of the show lie in the intricate patterns on the silk scarves, whereas the second part brings vivid colors to the eyes of the public with gorgeous embroidered suits. Among my favorite pieces are the light pink suits, the white breezy outfits and the incredible mixes of colors towards the end of the show when the models presented the clothes in groups of complementary color palettes. This colorful part of the show actually reminded me of the closing scene of the Gucci womenswear A/W 2011 collection which you can see here. The same color palette blending into the group, nevertheless without the mystery created through the dim lights in the womenswear show.
