Milan Men's Fashion Week has just finished and unfortunately I'm just starting with a few posts about it, as I have been away from my computer last week. One of the most interesting inspirations for a spring summer collection this year came from the French countryside and was put together by Salvatore Ferragamo. I really enjoyed his collection. The materials seem very soft and light perfect for summer and so do the cuts. We can see that the wide legged pant trend that we first saw on the winter runways continues for the next spring and summer seasons and I' thrilled! Although they can make the figure look a bit bulkier, pairing them with a tight jacket in a contrasting color or with a larger coat tied at the waist brings equilibrium and an interesting touch to the silhouette.
The color palette was very appropriate to the French countryside theme. I love the sandy tones and the dusty colors. As you'll see throughout the next posts, these colors are quite recurring in several fashion shows. Also the straw hats bring a twist compared to the other shows. It's difficult to chose some clear favorite pieces, as they are all great so I'll just mention the double-breasted jackets, the dusty green coat tied at the waist, the incredibly comfortable shoes and the cozy sweaters.
Here are the runway photos:
I'll be posting really frequently about the Milan Men's Fashion Week because guess what starts tomorrow? Both the Paris Men's Fashion Week and the SALES season in Paris and that's where I'm headed!
