London Fashion Week: Aquascutum

Wednesday, 23 February 2011

The last womenswear show from the London Fashion Week is the one from Aquascutum showing lovely coats and a very pleasant mix of light and dark hues. Although the focus part of the collection seems to be on the coats, which are marvelously executed, with lots of details and twists, the skirts, the knitwear and the dresses are also interesting. I really liked the outfit in the first picture, it's all in the mix - the soft white fur, the light blue oversized sweater and the grey boots are amazing. Also in this style the mix with the oversized cream coat and sheer asymmetric skirt! The darker pieces are great as well, for example the black dress, boots and coat combo, the sheer skirt in blue-gray tones paired with a sweater and a coat hanging carelessly on the model's shoulders or the big coat and the grayish pants. Notice that layering plays a key role in this show without creating a bulky figure - two superposed skirts or a long blazer and short jacket on top. Interesting detail: the wrist-purse (if you can call it that way!). Here are my favorite looks:
